Updated October 2026
You can update a kitchen without renovating by keeping the boxes, counters and layout and changing what you actually see and touch: the doors, the drawer fronts, the colour, the hardware and the storage inside. Done with a sprayed factory finish, the whole update takes 4 to 6 working days, needs no permit and involves no demolition.
That sounds too simple, so here is the honest version: how it works, what it costs, who it is for, and who should skip it.
Our goal is to deliver each client a kitchen with a look and feel that is polished, with the latest conveniences.
Why does a renovation cost so much?
Most of what you pay for in a renovation, you never see. Demolition. Disposal. New boxes that are, frankly, not very different from the ones going in the bin. Permits, inspections, trades, and the weeks of waiting between each one. The part you actually wanted, a kitchen that looks and feels new, is a small slice of the bill. Updating without renovating spends the money on the part you look at every morning.
Is your kitchen a candidate?
This is not for every kitchen, so let us narrow it down.
Your kitchen is 10 to 20 years old, in a family home, townhome or condo built in the 2000s or 2010s somewhere between Oakville, Burlington, Mississauga, Ancaster, Toronto, North York and Milton. The doors look dated and worn on the outside. But the boxes are in excellent condition, square and solid. The layout already works for how you cook, host and live. You are not moving a wall, relocating the sink or adding an island. What you want is a real, impactful change without the cost, the mess, the permits and the months of construction that come with a full demolition.
If that is your kitchen, keep reading. If your boxes are swollen, crumbling or water-damaged, you want to change the layout, or your counters are coming out anyway with the cabinets, a renovation is the right call and we will tell you so.
Step one, change the colour with a factory finish
Colour is the biggest change for the least money, and how it goes on decides whether it lasts. The New Coating Package is $4,180 + HST for up to 35 doors and drawer fronts, boxes included. Larger kitchens go up incrementally with the number of doors. Your doors and drawer fronts go to our shop and are sprayed with an industry leading European two-part (2K) cabinet coating that cures into a hard, cross-linked shell, far tougher against chips, scratches and daily wear than ordinary paint. Waterborne, low-VOC, will not yellow, resists moisture and kitchen chemicals. The boxes are sprayed on site in the same coating and colour. A factory finish, not a painted one.
Step two, change the door style if the shape is the problem
If the issue is the arched or raised-panel doors rather than the colour, swap the doors and keep the boxes. Made-to-measure doors and drawer fronts are $16 per square foot + HST in traditional shaker, thin shaker, beveled shaker or slab, fitted on your existing boxes, which are recoated to match. This is also the only route for peeling thermofoil, which cannot be saved, and for oak when you want a grain-free surface.
Step three, add what a new kitchen would have
For a little more, you add the features people usually only consider when they are spending $35,000 or more on a renovation.
Convert a double-door base cabinet to deep drawers: $778.50 + HST for two, $1,109.07 + HST for three, per cabinet, with the new doors package.
Fit storage inside the cabinets you already own: corner swing-outs, lazy susans, pull-out waste and recycling bins.
Soft-close Blum hinges on every door.
Your choice of 40 designer pulls.
What stays exactly where it is
Your counters. Your backsplash. Your sink. Your appliances. Your flooring. Your layout. Nothing structural, electrical or plumbing changes, which is why there is no permit, no inspection and no demolition.
What the week actually looks like
Most kitchens take 4 to 6 working days, and only 2 or 3 of those are in your home. The family stays. The kitchen is usable each evening. No dumpster on the driveway, no month of takeout.

Why you should price it before you are ready
We can take on 4 to 5 projects a month, maximum. That is a real cap, set by shop work and cure time, not a sales line. There is strong demand for this kind of update from homeowners across Oakville, Burlington, Mississauga, Ancaster, Toronto, North York, Milton and Hamilton, and months fill in order. Pricing takes a few minutes online, no consultation, and a deposit holds your dates. Wait until you are ready to start and you are choosing from what is left.

Do I need a permit to recoat or replace cabinet doors? No. Nothing structural, electrical or plumbing changes, so no permit is needed.
Can I keep my counters and backsplash? Yes. Counters, backsplash, sink, appliances, flooring and layout all stay.
How long will I be without a kitchen? You will not be. Most projects take 4 to 6 working days, 2 or 3 in your home, and the kitchen is usable each evening.
Where do you work? Oakville, Burlington, Mississauga, Ancaster, Toronto, North York, Milton and Hamilton, at the same price. If your boxes are swollen, crumbling or water-damaged, though, this is not the right solution anywhere, and we will say so.
