Traditional and Transitional Cabinet Pulls

A traditional kitchen asks for cabinet pulls and handles with a little more shape: a cup, a curve, a turned end. A transitional one sits between that and the plain lines of today. This collection holds our classic and transitional series, in brushed brass, champagne bronze, brushed nickel, polished chrome and matte black, with matching knobs in many of them.

Centre-to-centre sizes follow the same 64 mm to 320 mm range as the rest of the shop. Every piece ships across Canada through Marathon Hardware and is priced in CAD before HST.

Common questions

What is a transitional cabinet pull?

A transitional pull borrows from both traditional and contemporary design: a softened bar, a gentle arch, a cup with straight sides. It suits shaker doors, raised panels and flat doors without leaning hard in either direction, which is why it is often chosen when a kitchen mixes older and newer elements.

Which finish works with shaker cabinets?

Shaker doors take almost any finish. Brushed brass and champagne bronze warm a white or cream kitchen; brushed nickel and polished chrome keep it cool; matte black gives the strongest contrast. Choose a finish that contrasts with the door colour if you want the hardware to be seen.

Can I mix knobs and pulls in a traditional kitchen?

Yes, and it is common: knobs on doors, pulls or cup pulls on drawers. Keep to one finish, or to 2 finishes that sit close in tone, and the mix reads as intended. Many classic and transitional series here include a knob in the same finish.

How do I measure a replacement traditional handle?

Measure centre-to-centre between the 2 screw holes in millimetres. Cup pulls and bail pulls follow the same rule. Common conversions are 76 mm for 3 inches, 96 mm for 3 3/4 inches and 128 mm for 5 inches. Match that number and the new pull uses the existing holes.
